Most clubs are a single season. Birmingham Bobcats Field Hockey is a true pipeline that grows your child from their very first stick to a varsity letter, all under one program and one coaching staff.

Grades 3–5 · Learn to Play

Where it starts. A five-week Sunday clinic. Stick skills, small-sided play, fun first. We play against each other as numbers allow, with no games against other teams. Open to players from Birmingham and neighboring communities.

Five Sundays · $85

Grades 6–8 · Middle School

Where it gets real. Our inaugural middle school team practices twice a week and plays seven games against Grosse Pointe, Sacred Heart and Cranbrook. Registration covers coaching, uniforms, officials and team equipment.

Fall season · $200

High School · Birmingham United

Where it pays off. Birmingham United is the co-op varsity and JV program for Seaholm and Groves. Field hockey became an MHSAA sport in 2025, and it is a no-cut sport. High school registration runs through the school, not this page.

Why one pathway matters

The players grow up together

When a program runs from 3rd grade to varsity under one staff, your child learns the same system every step of the way. Friendships built in the 3–5 clinic become the middle school team, and the middle school team becomes Birmingham United. That continuity is how strong programs are built, and it is exactly what Birmingham has never had until now.
